I’ve been a member of Pilates Sphere since the beginning of this year & can honestly say I look forward to my classes every week regardless of the instructor as they are all so lovely! Whether you are brand new to Pilates, have had a break or been going for years, I recommend trying out the studio & you won’t be disappointed! It’s a gorgeous space with a comprehensive timetable ensuring there are classes that work for everyone whatever your working pattern. Thanks to Charlotte & team for creating such a welcoming space x
Wonderful pilates studio. I have been attending classes since July 2025. Every single teacher has been amazing and takes the time to ensure good form. I would however like to give a shout-out to two particular teachers - Tanya Feldman and Rebecca Bailey. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and fantastic instructions. I have some instabilities on my left ankle, hip and knee and their wonderful classes have really helped to build strength in these areas. I would highly recommend this business.
The Pilates Sphere - Reformer Pilates in Richmond offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Yes — the studio runs Saturday and Sunday classes. Weekend mornings (08:00-10:30) are typically the busiest slots at UK pilates studios; if you prefer a quieter session, the early afternoon often has more availability.
Most UK boutique reformers start newcomers with a beginner-tagged class or a 1-1 intro session rather than dropping them into a mixed-level group. Arrive 10-15 minutes early; you'll be shown carriage adjustment, spring tension and basic safety. Wear grip socks (mandatory at most studios — they sell pairs for £8-15 if you don't have them) and form-fitting clothing that lets the instructor see your alignment. The first class is the steepest learning curve — by your third session, the equipment feels much more intuitive.
