Jo is a fantastic Pilates instructor. I had a hip replacement 3 years ago, it is now stronger and more flexible than ever before. She is always so upbeat and inspiring with her exercise classes. No surprise that she has such a loyal following.

When I started attending Jo’s Pilates classes 11 years ago I had no idea how useful the skills would be post op from a total knee replacement. Being able to engage my core, touch my toes and balance on one leg, have all been invaluable in my road to recovery. Jo always asks each class if there is anything new she should know, and takes care to help us tailor moves to suit different needs. I know that when I go back to weekly classes she will keep an eye on me and suggest modifications that will speed my recovery. I highly recommend her classes and feel very grateful that I have been able to benefit so much from her friendly and knowledgeable approach. Carol
Much to my surprise I have been with Jo for 14 years. With Jo you are not just a number in the class because she makes time for you and helps you to adapt to any exercise that perhaps isn’t suited to you. Jo also spends time making sure you are in the correct position. Through a car accident many years ago I lost some of my hearing but Jo always repeats instructions clearly which helps me a lot. Sometimes you don’t always feel like exercising but when you come away you feel much better and glad you went. I can’t praise Jo enough. When Jo first started her classes we were in a small room in Wootton Vale Surgery many years ago there was about 8 ladies we were right next to each other even Jo didn’t have much room to move. How well she has come on from those days. Well done Jo. Come and join her classes you won’t regret it.
Jo's Pilates offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
one of the 3 recent reviews mention the instructors in positive terms — words such as "knowledgeable", "attentive" and "encouraging" recur most frequently. Members citing specific cues, form corrections or named instructors is a strong sign of relationship-led teaching rather than transactional class delivery. If instructor depth matters for your decision (particularly for clinical or prenatal-focused pilates), this is a useful positive signal. One recent member put it this way: "I highly recommend her classes and feel very grateful that I have been able to benefit so much from her friendly and knowledgeable approach." — Carol Hosking.
