I joined Winchester Pilates as my physiotherapist recommended trying reformer Pilates. From my first session, I was impressed by the professional and knowledgeable sports staff. I was given clear guidance and instruction in using the reformer, which helped to alleviate the hip issue I had been experiencing. In the two years that I have been going to Winchester Pilates, I have also tried other fitness sessions. Two in particular I have really enjoyed and benefited from. The first is a studio class, Pilates Strong, which uses hand weights and is quite high energy. Jane, the instructor, is one of the most energetic and inspiring teachers I have had. The other class is Pilates Stretch. This is a mat based session that gives the whole body a systematic workout in a slow breath based pace. My teacher, Jo, ensues that we understand how to move our bodies and her guidance and attention to detail has allowed me to increase my mobility, flexibility and balance.
