Fera is a lovely person and an amazing Pilates teacher. She’s extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to understand individual needs, tailoring exercises for the best results. Highly recommended.
Fera is an inspiring teacher who is positive about her practice and so knowledgeable. I’ve been going to her classes for about seven years and I’m sure that’s why, at 71, my mobility is so good! So glad I found her Pilates!
As a Pilates newbie, I can’t say enough good things about Swansea Pilates. The classes are small, friendly, and not intimidating — perfect for anyone just starting out as well as the more experienced. The instruction is top-notch and delivered with a deep understanding of the practice, so you never feel like you’re floundering. Fera is the real deal — passionate, experienced, and with an almost magical ability to make you feel both challenged and supported at the same time. Every session pushes me mentally & physically. Perseverance is definitely key, but the results? Totally worth it!
Pilates Swansea offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
2 of 3 recent reviews mention the instructors in positive terms — words such as "knowledgeable", "attentive" and "encouraging" recur most frequently. Members citing specific cues, form corrections or named instructors is a strong sign of relationship-led teaching rather than transactional class delivery. If instructor depth matters for your decision (particularly for clinical or prenatal-focused pilates), this is a useful positive signal. One recent member put it this way: "She’s extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to understand individual needs, tailoring exercises for the best results." — Susan Ley.
one of the 3 recent reviews mention atmosphere in less positive terms — "cold", "intimidating" or "cliquey" being the recurring descriptors. This is worth weighting if you're a complete beginner and prone to feeling out of place; consider booking a quieter midweek 10-12am class rather than a peak 6pm session for your first visit, which is the standard pattern that smooths out the experience.
