I went to one of Grace's retreat days and it was wonderful. Relaxing, thought provoking and just what I needed. Grace really knows her stuff. Highly recommend.
My children are 11 and 8 and I'd given up on the idea of recovering any kind of core strength I seemed to lose in pregnancy. After a horrible back injury, I started Pilates with Grace and within a couple of weeks I was beginning to notice a difference. Grace supports you to really connect to what's happening in your body, to notice things that make movement more conscious and eventually easier. I used to find Pilates incredibly difficult- too much to think about all at once! But in Grace's classes I don't feel pressure to be doing it right, I just focus on improving my connection to my body. I'm developing a real sense of strength physically and feeling mentally boosted by the experience too. Thank you Grace!
I attended Grace’s class for six months, and the results were incredible! I need to go back. Her knowledge, care, and expertise helped my whole body function with greater strength. She truly knows her stuff and takes the time to understand each participant and where they need to focus
Centred Mums Pilates and Wellbeing offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
Yes — at least one weekday class runs until 20:00 or later, which suits members training after a standard working day. Evening peaks at most UK pilates studios run from 18:00 to 19:30, with later 20:00-21:00 slots usually quieter and easier to book on the day.
Most UK boutique reformers start newcomers with a beginner-tagged class or a 1-1 intro session rather than dropping them into a mixed-level group. Arrive 10-15 minutes early; you'll be shown carriage adjustment, spring tension and basic safety. Wear grip socks (mandatory at most studios — they sell pairs for £8-15 if you don't have them) and form-fitting clothing that lets the instructor see your alignment. The first class is the steepest learning curve — by your third session, the equipment feels much more intuitive.
