Thanks to Emma, Steph and the team for your skill and expertise. As a Pilates beginner I’ve been made to feel very welcome and supported with the early stages of my learning curve. Steph sets high standards and moves the class along at a good pace while helping participants with a range of abilities and experience to each get the best out of the experience. After a few weeks I’m already feeling the benefits and look forward to continuing to do so.
I booked a course of Pilaties with Steph after a long absence from Pilaties. The group were welcoming and friendly. Steph gave clear explanations for each movement providing a watchful eye advising on small alterations to make sure the movement was effective for each participant. She provided alternatives so you could work at what ever level was right for you. She has a friendly inclusive knowledgeable teaching style. I throughly enjoyed each session, physically benefiting from the course and the expertise of Steph.
Pilates at the Coast offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
one of the 3 recent reviews mention the instructors in positive terms — words such as "knowledgeable", "attentive" and "encouraging" recur most frequently. Members citing specific cues, form corrections or named instructors is a strong sign of relationship-led teaching rather than transactional class delivery. If instructor depth matters for your decision (particularly for clinical or prenatal-focused pilates), this is a useful positive signal. One recent member put it this way: "She has a friendly inclusive knowledgeable teaching style." — Jane Johnston.
