I have been attending Pilates classes for just over 2 years. I am 52, active, but nursing an old but tiny hip problem. Although I attend the gym 4-5 times a week, since attending classes at Heartcore, and mostly in Battersea, I have felt a significant positive difference in my hip mobility and comfort. The teachers have always been patient with me, explaining the sequences, caring, and encouraging me. The calibre of teaching is exceptional, the equipment is of high standard, and all set within stunning studios. I would encourage anyone thinking of trying Pilates to go a check out Heartcore. Onto my next class!
I’ve tried a lot of Pilates Studios around London and I’d highly recommend Heartcore! The studios are absolutely beautiful, and the teachers are amazing! Such well planned classes and every class leaves you feeling incredible. Battersea location is my favourite, so close to the tube and plenty of cafes around for a catch up afterwards.
Heartcore | Reformer Pilates Battersea offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
2 of 3 recent reviews mention the instructors in positive terms — words such as "knowledgeable", "attentive" and "encouraging" recur most frequently. Members citing specific cues, form corrections or named instructors is a strong sign of relationship-led teaching rather than transactional class delivery. If instructor depth matters for your decision (particularly for clinical or prenatal-focused pilates), this is a useful positive signal. One recent member put it this way: "I’ve been training here for over two months now, the teachers are always so encouraging and attentive." — Katherine.
