The best Reformer Pilates sessions! I came in post-pregnancy specifically wanting to work on my core, and Anastasis really helped me achieve that. Such a great environment would really recommend!
I've been having 1:1 Pilates sessions for a few months with Anastasis, and I can't praise him enough. The sessions themselves are great and appropriately challenging;. and I've experienced clear progress. But he's also supported a general development programme, discussing, drafting and revising a plan for my time in the gym too. Excellent all round
I started working with Ana after I experienced an episode of lower back pain. Our sessions have been transformative; Ana has helped me build strength, and she has also given me a brand new confidence and understanding of my body. (I was very shy about exercise before!!) Ana is very attuned to what you need, and perhaps most importantly the sessions are always heaps of fun. Thank you Ana 🥰
Perola Bruta • Reformer Pilates offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
one of the 3 recent reviews mention clinical, physio or rehabilitation contexts — back pain recovery, post-surgery return-to-movement, and chronic condition management appear as recurring themes. If you're seeking pilates as part of a rehab pathway, this is a meaningful positive signal. Confirm directly with the studio whether the lead practitioner is HCPC-registered (Chartered Physiotherapist) before booking, since insurance reimbursement specifically requires this credential. Google lists the studio as open before 7am on at least one weekday and until 8pm or later on another, which usually suits a 9-to-6 working day. Weekend opening is listed too. Opening hours are not the same as the class timetable — check the studio's own schedule before planning around a specific slot. Across UK boutiques, 07:00 and 18:00-19:30 are the busiest times.
Practice varies by studio, so confirm the format when you get in touch. As a general guide across UK boutique reformer studios: newcomers are usually pointed to a beginner-tagged class or a 1-1 introduction rather than a mixed-level group, arriving 10-15 minutes early is normal, and grip socks are widely required (some studios sell them for £8-15). Form-fitting clothing lets the instructor see your alignment. The first class is the steepest learning curve — by the third session the equipment feels far more intuitive.
