Really enjoyed my second reformer pilates class with Charlie. She’s such a wonderful and encouraging instructor! The studio itself is beautiful: clean, spacious, and filled with natural light. Can’t wait to come back
This was my first experience with reformer Pilates, and as a man I wasn’t quite sure what to expect — but I ended up going almost daily over a three-week stay in London around Christmas and New Year and was immediately hooked. My wife (32 weeks pregnant and a regular Pilates practitioner) joined every other day, and the experience was excellent for both of us. The studio is intimate and thoughtfully run, with small group classes (max 5 people) that feel genuinely tailored to each person in the room. Charlie, Emily, and the other instructors had an excellent eye for detail — calm, confident, and highly knowledgeable — while still keeping the classes welcoming and enjoyable. They manage to give real individual attention without losing the overall flow of the session. We tried other nearby studios during the same period, and the contrast was stark: overcrowded rooms, 12–15 reformers, instructors on microphones, and very little personal engagement. It felt rushed and impersonal. The Pilates Studio is the opposite — approachable, professional, friendly, and genuinely fun. Each class felt distinct rather than repetitive, and it was impressive to see how well sessions could accommodate both complete beginners and prenatal practice in the same space. It became a real highlight of our time in London, and I’d strongly recommend it — particularly to men who might feel unsure about trying reformer Pilates for the first time.
I cannot recommend this Pilates studio highly enough! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The instructor is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring that each session is tailored to fit your individual needs and skill level. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my strength and flexibility since joining. The studio is always clean and well-maintained, creating a perfect environment for practice. If you’re looking for a fantastic Pilates experience, this is the place to be!
The Pilates Studio offers 2 pilates disciplines. Each one is suited to different goals — read the breakdown below to see which fits.
Reformer pilates is performed on a specialised piece of equipment using adjustable spring resistance. It targets deeper stabilising muscles than mat-based pilates and is widely used for posture correction, core strength, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal training.
Mat pilates uses your bodyweight on a padded mat, often with small props like resistance bands, blocks and pilates balls. It's the most accessible form of pilates — no heavy equipment, lower price points, and easier to continue at home.

Honest, specific answers about this studio.
every recent review mention the instructors in positive terms — words such as "knowledgeable", "attentive" and "encouraging" recur most frequently. Members citing specific cues, form corrections or named instructors is a strong sign of relationship-led teaching rather than transactional class delivery. If instructor depth matters for your decision (particularly for clinical or prenatal-focused pilates), this is a useful positive signal. One recent member put it this way: "She’s such a wonderful and encouraging instructor!" — Eve.
Yes — at least one weekday class runs until 20:00 or later, which suits members training after a standard working day. Evening peaks at most UK pilates studios run from 18:00 to 19:30, with later 20:00-21:00 slots usually quieter and easier to book on the day.
Most UK boutique reformers start newcomers with a beginner-tagged class or a 1-1 intro session rather than dropping them into a mixed-level group. Arrive 10-15 minutes early; you'll be shown carriage adjustment, spring tension and basic safety. Wear grip socks (mandatory at most studios — they sell pairs for £8-15 if you don't have them) and form-fitting clothing that lets the instructor see your alignment. The first class is the steepest learning curve — by your third session, the equipment feels much more intuitive.
